The Milton School District saw its tax rate drop in 2026 as property values rose from new developments in Milton and Janesville.
Business services director Ross MacPherson said the rate might increase to between $5.70 and $5.80 for 2026 to 2027 as state funding priorities change.

Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers and wife Lauren (a local favorite) appeared on Good Morning America Tuesday to share his journey from almost quitting to a record breaking season; the Brewers will face the Rays in the World Series with a game Friday at 7 p.m. at American Family Field.
The River Ridge High School girls cross country team is reflecting on its rise from few participants to becoming a title threat.
