- ➤ Paul VanDuyne Jr., 43, of Madison pleaded not guilty in Rock County court—he faces charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, reckless endangerment, and stalking after he was accused of a cross-county poisoning plot targeting two former love interests and is set for an arraignment in Dane County on August 5. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul filed a lawsuit against the USDA's May demand for SNAP recipients' details— including social security numbers and addresses— saying the request violates privacy and constitutional rights for millions, with over 934,000 affected in our state. WKOW
- ➤ Senator Tammy Baldwin reintroduced the DAIRY PRIDE Act to protect dairy names by asking the FDA to require that milk, cheese, and yogurt be made only from animals—plant-based producers would have 90 days to change their labels if the law passes. The bipartisan bill may be added to this year’s farm bill. WKOW
