Good morning, Janesville.

The Children’s Museum of Rock County has requested a Class B liquor license to support a few special adult-focused fundraising events after hours; the Alcohol Licensing Advisory Committee will review the request Tuesday, July 7 to ensure strict safety measures for kids and families.

Jeremy Bilhorn took over as Milton School District superintendent on July 1 in the remodeled office.

The longtime educator from Rock County began his leadership amid new hires including former Sun Prairie principal Keith Nerby with plans to build on community pride and enrich student opportunities.

Rock County is included in FEMA's disaster declaration following mid-April storms and floods, letting residents with qualifying damage apply for assistance by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov or calling 800-621-FEMA.

Officials said a disaster recovery center will be set up soon to help with applications.

Rock County residents affected by severe April storms became eligible for FEMA Individual Assistance after disaster relief was approved Thursday evening.
