- ➤ Dr. Jill Underly won re-election as state superintendent of public instruction after Tuesday night's vote count showed 82% of precincts reporting—she led with 53% against challenger Brittany Kinser's 47% and will work to boost state funding for public schools amid federal cuts. Underly, first elected in 2021, aims to ease the tax burden on local school districts. WKOW
- ➤ Michelle Haworth, Julie Richardson, and Tyra Johnson were elected Tuesday to the Janesville School Board with Haworth serving as an incumbent and Richardson and Johnson joining as new members who will help shape local education policy. GazetteXtra

- ➤ State Attorney General Josh Kaul joined 23 states and the District of Columbia in a lawsuit filed in a Rhode Island court against Health and Human Services — and Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr — to stop cuts that terminated about $11 billion in public health grants. The cuts threaten Wisconsin with a loss of over $235 million in funding for mental health and substance abuse programs. WKOW
