Good morning, Janesville.

The YMCA of Northern Rock County will launch Project Elevate to offer free memberships and programming for kids (ages 4-17) in need, aiming to boost youth fitness and access to recreation in the community.

Janesville Troop 402 reached its 108th Eagle Scout, continuing a legacy that began in 1929.

The honor shows the troop’s steady commitment to the highest rank in scouting (a milestone for local youth).

City officials said Tuesday they have not yet decided whether to replace benches and tables removed last fall from Firehouse (Volunteer) Parks as they consider a new model to address community concerns.
