- ➤ South Beloit man Quinton Cain Rechcygl, 29, was charged on Wednesday in Beloit after allegedly stabbing a man with a pocket knife and trying to hit him with a frying pan during a fight at a home on Oak Street—witnesses backed the victim's account and police said he appeared intoxicated; he faces charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and disorderly conduct, his bond was set at his initial appearance on Thursday, and he will appear in court again on April 16. - ➤ A Janesville man, Sergio Morales, 32, was sentenced to 17 years in prison for attempted homicide after he shot out his fiancée's tire and fired at her car during an October 2023 argument—he will serve an additional 13 years of extended supervision. WKOW

- ➤ A political science expert said Elon Musk’s political group is legally offering $100 to Wisconsin voters to sign a petition supporting Judge Brad Schimel — though he described the offer as sketchy — as early voting continues ahead of an April 1 election. WKOW
- ➤ Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced Friday that Dane County Circuit Court accepted a consent judgement with Kroger over its role in the opioid crisis. The nationwide settlement totals $1.37 billion and gives Wisconsin $21.8 million for opioid abatement with payments starting this fall — Kroger must also monitor and report suspicious opioid prescription activity.
