- ➤ A Janesville man, Mark McCoy, drove his truck over the center line in 2023 and caused a crash that killed a woman, and Judge Ashley Morse sentenced him on Friday to 10 years in prison (with 10 years of extended supervision) for reckless and negligent homicide. WKOW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Voters in Janesville and across Wisconsin will vote on April 1 in the Spring General Election—polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee voting starts on March 18 with ballots requested by March 27—while in-person registration for voting is available until March 28 and for in-person absentee votes until March 30. - ➤ Farmers and food pantries in Wisconsin are urging the USDA to restore local food programs after the agency ended the 2025 Local Food Purchase Assistance and Local Food for Schools programs—measures that supported nearly 300 farms and local food banks. Groups say cutting these programs leaves suppliers facing hardships after investing for 2025 and may delay rebuilding a reliable local food system. WKOW
