Good morning, Janesville.

Fluctuating international oil prices are raising diesel costs for local farmers as they prepare for planting season—Whitewater farmer Casey Kelleher said rising fuel prices could increase spraying costs by 15 cents per acre and planting costs by 50 cents per acre as he monitors local supplier changes.

Janesville City Council unanimously rezoned the 101 Rockport Road site from a planned affordable housing project to a conservancy, shifting the focus to community greenspace.

The decision ends housing proposals in favor of preserving local land for conservation.
